The Washington County Historical & Genealogical Society Board of Directors meets at the Museum Family History Center on the third Thursday of every month except March, June, September and November.  The quarterly general meetings are held in March, June, September and November and rotates among the cities in Washington County.  (See the schedule below for the next meeting date, time and location.)

Sheriff's Residence and Jail
Work continues on the interior of the jail. Display cabinets are now
finished and artifacts and history are being added.

Thank You to Tim and Kristy Harlan and Nancy Otott for volunteering
their time to this project this past year.

Emmon's School has an added feature with the Out House that has
been added this fall. This is a great addition that will assist with the
education of visitors and students. Thank you to the volunteer's
and donors that made this project possible.

Membership in the Washington County Historical and Genealogical Society is open to ANYONE interested in Washington County Kansas History and/or Genealogy.  Membership Dues for 2018 are now due:

$10.00 / yr., individual or family (January - December)
$100.00 individual life membership
